Abstract: [ Objective ] To study changes in activities of γ-glutamyltransferase ('y -GT), ATPase, NO, cNOS and DNAcontent in spermatogenic cells of testes of mice treated with endosulfan. [ Methods ] Forty healthy KM male mice were dividedrandomly into: control group, low dose group, middle dose group and high close group. They were orally fed daily with 0, 1.75, 315and 7.0 mg of endosulfan per kg respectively for two weeks. DNA content and the activities of γ-GT, ATPase, NO and cNOS ofspermatogenic cells in mice testes were determined by diphenylamine reaction and through colorimetry, respectively. [ Results ]During the whole experimental period, testes and epididymides weight of high dose group was significantly different from thecontrol group. The γ-GT, NO and cNOS activities and DNA content of endosulfan-treated groups increased significantly with thedose of endosulfan compared with the control group, but Na+K+-ATPase and Ca2+Mg2+-ATPase activities decreased significantly.[ Conclusion ] Endosulfan might induce changed of a series enzymes and DNA segmentation associate to apodosis, stronglyindicate apoptosis of spermatogenic cells in mouse testis.
