Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the stability of stainless steel implant used as anchorage under different force time.MethodsTwenty malocclusional patients(10males,10females average age 16~18 years old)with a total forty miniscrews were examined.Miniscrews were insered on the maxillary tooth-bearing area between the second bicuspid and the first molar as a direct anchorage for anterior teeth extraction.All the patients were divided into 2 groups.Force was activated immediately by nickel-titanium coil springs in group 1 after the insertion of the mini-screws.After 4 weeks the force was applied in group 2.the distance about the movement of the forced miniscrew were mearsured by the cephalometric radiographs at the beginning and half year later.ResultsIn group 1,the miniscrews were tipped vertically 1.53mm and the sagittal distance of movement was 1.31mm on average.In group 2,the distance was 0.83mm sagittally and 1.03mm vertically.Conclusion The stainless steel miniscrew could provide enough anchorage control for anterior teeth extraction. It is more stable for force exertion on after 4 weeks.
