State of the Word is the annual keynote address delivered by the WordPress project’s co-founder, Matt Mullenweg, celebrating the progress of the open source project and offering a glimpse into its future.
This year, State of the Word will broadcast live from Tokyo Node Hall, in Tokyo, Japan. This event will be live-streamed to WordPress enthusiasts and newcomers around the globe via the WordPress YouTube channel.
Join Matt as he provides a retrospective of 2024, demos the latest in WordPress tech, and comments on the future of the WordPress open source project.
Request a ticket to be one of the 300 members attending in person.
“WordPress belongs to all of us, but really we’re taking care of it for the next generation.”
Can’t make it to Tokyo? No problem, organize or join a watch party in your community in person or online. Like last year, the Community team has resources available to help! Check out this handbook page, which includes event templates and information on requesting a Zoom account.
Gather together to look back on the project s achievements this past year and what is ahead for 2025. Stay up-to-date on the latest happenings in the WordPress world and collaborate together on any questions you might have for Matt!
If you are planning a watch party for State of the Word and have questions, please email support@wordcamp.org. A member of the WordPress community team will assist you in the best way possible.
